ICE: AGREEMENT WITH CENTREXPO/IPACK-IMA GROUP
TO SUPPORT THE ITALIAN INDUSTRY FROM PROCESSING TO PACKAGING

Milan, March 25th 2009 - Today, ICE - Italian Trade Institute and the Centrexpo/Ipack-Ima Group have signed an agreement at the Fiera Milano exhibition center in Rho. The Centrexpo/Ipack-Ima Group was born from the union of exhibition organizers Centrexpo S.p.A. and Ipack-Ima S.p.A, specialized in the graphic arts, converting and package printing industry and processing and packaging technology respectively.

The agreement has been signed during the international conference “More Technology, Safety & Quality, less Hunger” organized by Ipack-Ima in cooperation with the prestigious financial newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore. The conference enjoyed the support of the Ministry for Economic Development and ICE, with the patronage of the Ministry for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policy and UN agencies FAO, IFAD, UNIDO and WFP.

“The cooperation between ICE and the Centrexpo/Ipack-Ima group will have a 3-year validity and will be an opportunity to maximize the synergy between the Government and private companies in such key industries as food processing, packaging and printing”, said ICE President Umberto Vattani. “The agreement bears testimony to our willingness to create a system able to act effectively on international markets, beyond the single trade events”, said Mr. Vattani.

The promotional activities to be carried out jointly will be included in ICE’s annual promotional plan and will be co-funded by the two companies. This creates several opportunities to cooperate, including the exchange of information on local markets and partners, participation in international trade events and meeting agents and end users.

“Today” says Centrexpo/Ipack-Ima Group CEO Guido Corbella, “we signed an innovative agreement that will allow us to carry out our promotional activities beyond our trade exhibitions, supporting our exhibitors’ export sales and strengthening our brands. This agreement is the result of a continuous and intense cooperation over many years that built up into a solid partnership.”.
